City College Norwich

General information

City College Norwich is one of the largest and most comprehensive colleges of further and higher education in the UK. The college offers a wide range of courses from foundation studies and entry level to post-graduate and professional qualifications for school leavers, adults and businesses.

History

The college has been awarded Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status in three areas:

• accountancy and financial services
• hospitality and catering
• computing and networking (jointly with two other Norfolk colleges)

Unusually for a college, they also have a research centre which publishes research on a diverse range of subjects on a regular basis.

City College Norwich also has Investors in People (IIP) status and Matrix accreditation for its Information, Advice and Guidance Services and Customer First accreditation for its employer engagement unit, Business First.

Role in the NSAFS

City College Norwich is the lead training provider for the East of England region with its own specialist centre at St Andrews House. City College Norwich has excellent links with employers across the region, particularly in the financial services sector and several worldwide companies which have operations in the city such as:

• Central Trust
• Virgin Money

The college has worked closely with business leaders and the Norwich and Norfolk Financial Industry Group to develop a comprehensive range of training and qualifications to meet the needs of the financial services sector.
