Apprenticeships
Growing talent in-house
Apprenticeships are an effective way of nurturing talent for the financial services industry. Using a training framework in the workplace provides an excellent and practical method of developing existing staff or new entrants.
The model delivered through the National Skills Academy for Financial Services (NSAFS) includes essential technical knowledge gained through achieving a professional industry qualification from the industry’s professional bodies. These include:
- the IFS School of Finance
- the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)
- the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) ,previously the Securities and Investment Industry (SII)
This is combined with an assessment of work based competency through a National Vocational Qualification and support with literacy, numeracy and IT where necessary.
Apprenticeships, Advanced Apprenticeships and professional certificate level qualifications are ideal programmes to develop non-graduates and create a larger talent pool to select the managers of tomorrow.
The technical certificates for Level two Apprenticeships include pathways in:
- general insurance
- customer service
- accountancy
- payroll
The technical certificates for Level three Advanced Apprenticeships include pathways in:
- general and long-term insurance
- customer service
- investment administration and management
- pension management and advice
