What skills does the subsector need?

Working in retail banking requires many basic and high-level skills including numeracy, relationship management, IT, communication and interpersonal skills. Retail banks often work with international organizations and clients so the ability to speak other languages and having cultural awareness are increasingly useful skills.

As well as these “soft” skills, technical qualifications and good knowledge of the industry and its products are really valuable to working in this subsector.
