Opportunities with the NSAFS
North West
The financial services sector makes up 12 per cent of the total employment for the North West. The sector’s continued development is seen as crucial in sustaining the regional economy. The North West region’s most represented financial services subsectors include insurance and banking which is reflected in the National Skills Academy for Financial Services’ (NSAFS) Regional Employer Board.
The Regional Employer Board includes representatives from:
- Lloyds Banking Group
- Rathbones
- Bank of America
- The Chester Partnerships
- Carole Nash Insurance
- M&S;Money
- Co-operative Financial Services
- Learning and Skills Council
- Professional Liverpool
The board is chaired by Paul Clark, Senior Director with the Lloyds Banking Group.
The National Skills Academy for Financial Services (NSAFS) is represented across financial districts in the North West with a focus on Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Chester. The NSAFS accredited training providers for the region are:
- Skills Solutions (lead training provider)
- Oldham College
- St Helens College
- Liverpool Community College
- West Cheshire College
The NSAFS works with regional employers to support the development and retention of the North West financial services workforce by:
- upskilling its existing workforce
- delivering new entry routes to employment for young people
- creating pre-employment training for adults to broaden the recruitment pool
