Opportunities with the NSAFS
Tony Vine-Lott, Chairman
Tony took up his role as Chair of the NSAFS in 2007.
Tony spent his early business years in technical, sales and marketing roles in the IT industry. During this time, he was responsible for staff and customer training at Wang UK and Honeywell NISD.
For most of the last 20 years, he has been in retail financial services, nine of which were with Barclays plc where he set up Barclays Stockbrokers. He was also Chairman of Barclays Trust Bank (a discretionary funds management company) and BISCO, the bank’s IFA and general insurance division.
For the past seven years, he has been Director General of the Tax Incentivised Savings Association (TISA), formerly known as PIMA. TISA is a trade sponsored body supported by, amongst others, most of the UK’s major:
- banks
- life offices
- fund managers
- friendly societies
- IFAs
- stockbrokers
In addition, he has held the following appointments.
- Deputy Chairman of the London Stock Exchange, Scottish Regional Practitioners Group – 1991-1995. He was responsible for skills development in the region
- Chairman of London Stock Exchange, Scottish Regional Practitioners Group – 1993-1995
- Member of the Private Shareholder Committee of the London Stock Exchange – 1995-1996, where he looked at the development of wider share ownership
