Sutton Coldfield College was granted lead provider status for the National Skills Academy in Financial Services – West Midlands, in November 2007.

The College is one of the largest in the country, located in the north of Birmingham. All of our campuses are easily accessible via road and rail. Birmingham is the economic centre of the West Midlands, within easy access of all of the major UK cities, less than ninety minutes from the capital.

History

The college has been providing education and training for over 100 years. Our students come from all over the West Midlands; some of which attend one of our campuses, others are trained at their place of work.

The college has four CoVE’s; including Business & Professional and Enterprise. It was recently awarded Part A of the Training Quality Standard and Part B in Engineering.

The Corporate Training Directorate at Sutton Coldfield College, is one of the leading training providers to organisations throughout the region, offering flexible and tailored programmes to meet business needs. The College works extensively with companies within the Financial Services sector offering a wide variety of courses including professional qualifications, leadership and management training, apprenticeships, customer service and call centre handling.

Skills Academy Provider

The college was delighted to be appointed lead provider for this priority sector. Our historical expertise and planned expansion will help to ensure employers in this sector have access to a growing, well qualified workforce.
• Expansion of customised, contextualised training and apprenticeship programmes designed to suit the business needs of employers.
• Full time courses in Financial Services within our Sixth Form and adult programmes, preparing our students for working life within the industry.
• All level 3 students within the college will receive some financial capability training.
The college is committed to the success of the Skills Academy, with refurbished premises for delivery and exciting developments in training.
