The Skills Academy’s success depends on the continued support and involvement from employers in the sector.
Employer involvement is at the heart of the Academy’s approach. Employers bring:
- An understanding of businesses in the sector
- First hand knowledge of their education and training needs
- Financial resources
- A commitment to high quality skills education and training
- Fresh ideas, an enthusiasm for innovation and a challenge to traditional ways of thinking.
What role can employers play?
We want you to take part so we can proudly and confidently say the Academy meets employers’ needs.
We need your support – and your time. Your involvement will help influence the strategic direction of the Skills Academy through membership of the National Board or, for local employers, Regional Boards.
These boards determine training and skills priorities, ensure implementation of national initiatives and branding, and make recommendations on how the Skills Academy network can expand further.
We need up to 12 representatives for the National Board and up to 10 employers for each regional board.
